Notification of proposal to close a Council public road - Part of Parriwi Road, Mosman adjoining 71 Parriwi Road

Mosman Municipal Council is proposing to close a Council public road that adjoins 71 Parriwi Road, Mosman (Lot 1 DP 1232631) for the purpose of formalising the occupation of the road by an elevated driveway, pedestrian bridge, gates, fencing, stairs, retaining walls and associated landscaping belonging to the adjoining property. Upon closure of the road Council intends to sell the land to the owner of 71 Parriwi Road in order to formalise the permanent structures occupying the land.

The Council public road proposed for closure is identified and highlighted in the plan and shown in the photo. The report considered by Council at its meeting on 6 April 2021 provides details of the proposal and application and the Minutes of that meeting details Council’s final determination of the application (refer to Item 16 commencing at page 7 of the Minutes). This notification is being made in accordance with Section 38B of the Roads Act 1993.

Who knows about the proposal?

Council has forward notifications to any adjoining land owners, notifiable authorities and any other land owners considered to be affected by the proposal. Council also arranged publication of a notification to close the road in the Mosman Daily on 20 May 2021.

What should you do now?

Any person is entitled to make submissions to Council with respect to the closing of the road.

If you wish to make a submission please do so here by 21 June 2021.

What happens next?

Council will decide whether the road is suitable for closure after considering all duly made submissions.
