Consultation has concluded

Background

The Zebra crossing on Myahgah Road is supervised by a School Crossing Supervisor. It is proposed to convert the existing Zebra Crossing to a Combined Crossing.

Combined (shared) Crossings are essentially pedestrian crossings but can be used as Children’s crossings. When in use, the orange Children’s crossing flags will be shown, and the Children’s crossing rules apply. Otherwise, they operate as a normal pedestrian crossing.

Proposal

It is proposed to upgrade the existing Zebra crossing on Myahgah Road at Belmont Road to a combined raised Children’s crossing.

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is concerned that the existing pedestrian crossing on Myahgah Road is too close to the Stop line and needs to be relocated. The address these concerns, the upgrade proposes to provide a 6m setback from the Stop line. The raised crossing will be 75mm in height with ramps. It is also proposed to install pedestrian fencing. The upgrade requires the removal of one car parking space on the western side of Myahgah Road.

The concept plan for the proposed upgrade is attached for your information.
