Consultation has concluded

Council recently resolved to exhibit its Draft Compliance and Enforcement Policy. The Policy aims to establish clear guidelines and protocols for council staff in the management of council’s regulatory activities. It is also intended to assist council staff to act promptly, effectively, and consistently in response to allegations of unlawful activity.

The Draft Policy provides structure for consistency and transparency in decision making regarding compliance and enforcement issues and assists in facilitating a proportionate approach to compliance and enforcement based on risk and impact.

The Draft Policy outlines matters for consideration through the various stages of the process from receipt of unlawful activity customer requests through to the types of enforcement options available.

The draft Compliance and Enforcement Policy is on public exhibition until 15 February 2023.
